<<UBF software supports ‘Sunset Clause’
>>
|
| EANnet version 4.0 will go into testing with six solution providers and nine manufacturers from May 15th and after the test period is concluded it will be deployed into production on July 10th. UBF software will be one of the solution providers and currently has the second largest group of manufacturers on EANnet. The UBF upgrade to meet EANnet 4.0 specifications will be released to paid-up annual support holders prior to the July 10 deadline. Clients without current Annual Support can obtain pricing for the upgrade from ABML on (02) 9688 7844. The deployment of EANnet 4.0 is the precursor to a move to the GSDN catalogue which is used globally. The migration to GSDN will require some modification to the pricing model currently in use in that it adds a number of additional fields such as discounts for volume purchases. After the ‘sunset period’, users will be required to send up all new data in a manner that meets the new specifications. Some critical data sets will be converted by the system. One such change is the previous requirement to switch the values in the width and length fields wherever the width was not the largest measurement. The GSDN catalogue has the opposite requirement therefore the necessity to change. According to GS1, there are currently 800 companies using EANnet and this number is expected to see further growth. |
