There are many broker success stories both from the national companies and groups as well single State operators.

In New South Wales, Grocery Brokers Australia has been doing great business on Baby Love Disposable Nappies since a new range was launched in March.

Grocery Brokers' Richard Bates told AFBD that Baby Love was ranged in all grocery accounts. He has represented the brand, manufactured by Australian Pacific Paper Products, since 1992.

"Since the new range was introduced we have experienced difficulty keeping up with demand. Our field team is reporting positive response from consumers that they speak to," he said.

Other companies which Grocery Broker represents include Cavalier-Bremworth and Felton Grimwade and Bickford which produces eucalyptus products.

Victorian broker and marketing consultant Peter Kennedy has been busy assisting Australian Grower Fruits Co-op to negotiate production of a range of Dick Smith Foods jam available nationally in four varieties.

Peter's company, PAK Enterprises, is handling the national merchandising of this and other clients' products. He reports that repeat sales of the jams indicate a significant market share is likely to be gained.

"Based on early sales results we should eventually see a market share of around 5-7%," said Mr Kennedy.

W.H.Evans was announced as Woolworths W.A. Broker of the Year at the Woolworths awards night in Perth held in May.

W.H. Evans general manager Kim Julian points out that a double success has been achieved, One of Evans' principals, Angus Park Dried Fruit, also gained an award in the category for suppliers at the $1 million turnover level.

Tasmanian broker Action Marketing has seen sales growth with S.C. Johnson of 21% over the last 12 months. Action's Paul Wagner advised AFBD that he had just completed 12 years service as the S.C. Johnson broker in Tasmania.
